The Role Of Colours In Interior Design 



Colours have important roles in our life, not just in a house or workplace, even the colour of car or phone, a shirt or socks which we all make decisions for them to what we want to see and how it makes us feel. (Anon, 2017)

"Colours can not only affect the way your staff work and how productive they can be, but it also affects how visitors perceive and evaluate your business" (Anon, 2017)
So it is necessary to choose appropriate colours for your office. It shows that colours effect on our life directly and can change our mood, for that reason we should know what is the features of different colours.

Let's take a look on some of the meaning of colours.


White = Clean & Clinical


Shows purity and cleanliness. safe but sometimes can be boring. Not the best way to attract customers. (Anon, 2017)

Black = Authority & Control

It may absorb natural light. This colour makes the place luxurious when used as a complimentary accent. It is supposed to mix it up with a varied palette. (Anon, 2017)

Purple = Royalty & Ambition

The colour of luxury, ambition and loyalty. This colour shows that suave touch. there is a difference between light purple and dark purple. light purple is said to bring up romantic thoughts while dark purple represents the opposite, doom and gloom. it is supposed that mix both of them for interior design.  (Anon, 2017)

Green = Balance & Growth

This colour will connect us to the natural surrounding. Using plants are one of the best ways to introduce green into the office with green walls. (Anon, 2017)

Blue = Stimulating & Relaxing

This colour makes a relationship between genuine and reliable and makes motivate atmosphere. (Anon, 2017)

To sum up, these are some examples of colours which show the influence of them on people. Choosing colour is one of the most important options in interior design, depends on location and benefit, we should select appropriate colour to make motivate or calm our atmosphere.
